Returning to the Parker Theatre stage on December 2, 3, & 4 is the community theatre’s Christmas production of “Dickens of a Holiday, or How We Got Scrooged”, a comedy approach to the Dickens Classic “A Christmas Carol”, which delighted audiences in 2009 and 2010. Using pop culture icons like Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Ricky and Lucy and many others, the cast brings the familiar tale to a new and humorous life through various presentation techniques. Written and directed by local playwright Adrea Gibb, the show has tickled audiences for the past two years, while supporting the Hawaii Food Bank/Food Basket. Tickets are $10 alone, or just $5 with the donation of one or more non-perishable food items. Available at the door, the tickets will be good for any show. Caution is advised! Saturday December 3rd is the date of the Waimea Christmas Parade, and the show will be an afternoon matinee at 3:00 pm that day, rather than the more traditional evening show. Audience members can enjoy the performance then make their way to their favorite parade viewing spot!
