Audition..... Auditions!!

Directed by Miguel Bray
Waimea Community Theatre will hold open auditions for its next production, "Fiddler on the Roof", a hit Broadway musical, which will be presented in Waimea in mid-November, 2010.
Fiddler, known for its evocative music as well as its touching story line, has available parts for both men and women, from teenager through seniors. Most speaking parts are adults, but some could be portrayed by a teen who could pass for a young adult. There are only very limited speaking parts for children of any age, but we will endeavor to include a few youngsters in crowd/chorus scenes where possible as well. Two of the named characters (daughters) with some lines may be be cast as younger girls. Availability of the child for rehearsals, as well as arrangements for suitable supervision will be important considerations for any children wishing to be in the play.
Auditions will be held on September 3rd and 4th at the Waimea Community Theatre office, located at 66-1250 Lalamilo Farm Road in Waimea. For a helpful map of the location of the office, click (or copy to your browser):

Auditions will be at 6:30 - 9:00 pm on Friday, Sep 3, and 1:00 - 3:30 pm on Sat, Sep 4. Persons interested in auditioning are recommended to arrive earlier in the time frame, rather than later, and be prepared to sing. Auditioners will sing a song from the show, after some practice with the pianist. Karaoke, or prepared songs of the auditioner's choice will not be acceptable. Auditioners may be asked to dance or learn simple dance moves as well. For this reason, PLEASE WEAR SHOES OF SOME KIND. DO NOT WEAR SLIPPERS OR SANDALS.
Rehearsals will begin between September 8th and 15th. Please jot down in advance any dates between the auditions and the performances when you will not be available, so that you can indicate them on your audition sheet. Persons not able to able to appear in all the performances cannot be considered for speaking parts.
